FAW (First Automobile Works) is one of China's oldest and largest vehicle makers, founded in 1953 in Changchun, Jilin, and best known for its Jiefang commercial trucks, which have been built since 1956. FAW Jiefang trucks are widely used for long-haul transport, logistics, construction, and bulk freight in China and in export markets across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Jiefang J6P and J6M. The J6 series is the core of FAW's heavy and medium-heavy range, used as tractor units, rigid trucks, and tippers. J6P trucks are commonly fitted with the CA6DL and CA6DM engines.
Jiefang JH6. A heavy-duty range available with FAW and Weichai engines, popular for long-haul and general freight.
Jiefang J5 (Aowei J5P and Hanwei J5M). Earlier-generation trucks still in widespread service, which keeps their filters in steady demand.
Tian V and New Dawei. Medium and light-heavy trucks used for regional distribution and general freight.
FAW's engines and the Weichai engines used in some Jiefang trucks share many filters. While exact filter part numbers depend on the engine and build, the following numbers appear frequently in FAW Jiefang maintenance:
These numbers are useful references when identifying the correct replacement. Always confirm the exact filter by engine model, emission standard, or existing filter part number when possible.

Oil filters. Replace the oil filter with every oil change. FAW and Weichai engines in long-haul service can use extended intervals only with appropriate oil and filters, so follow the manual.
Fuel filters. FAW's fuel filters are sensitive to water and sediment. Replace on schedule, drain the water separator regularly, and prime the system after replacement.
Air filters. Larger engines such as the CA6DM3 use a primary and secondary air element. Replace the primary when restricted and the secondary on schedule, and keep spares for dusty routes.
Engine variants. A JH6 with a Weichai engine and a J6P with a FAWDE engine can look similar but use different filters. Always identify the engine before ordering.
Service intervals depend on the engine model, emission standard, oil specification, fuel quality, road and load conditions, and the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Always follow the schedule for your specific vehicle.
What oil filter does a FAW J6P use? J6 trucks commonly use FAW 1012010-81DM or 1012010-81DF, or the equivalent WIX WL10193 for the CA6DL engines. Verify by engine model.
Do FAW and HOWO share filters? Some, yes. For example, HOWO VG1540070007 is listed alongside FAW 1012010-81DF, and the 2841 air filter housing is listed for both brands. Always confirm by dimensions.
What fuel filter does a FAW J6 with a Weichai engine use? Weichai 1000422382 (listed with FAW 612630080087) is commonly used for WP10, WP12, and WP13 in FAW trucks, but confirm by engine model.
Can aftermarket filters be used on FAW trucks? Yes, if they meet or exceed the original specification for efficiency, flow, and pressure rating and come from a manufacturer able to supply test data.
For fleets, importers, and distributors sourcing replacement filters for FAW Jiefang trucks, ADAOER Filter manufactures fuel, oil, air, hydraulic, and cabin filters for trucks, buses, and heavy machinery, and supports OEM/ODM development for custom specifications. Cross-reference lists are available on request.
Brand names and part numbers are used for identification and compatibility reference only. Sinotruk, CNHTC, HOWO, Weichai, Baudouin, FAW, Jiefang, Shacman, Mann, WIX, Hengst, Donaldson, Baldwin, and Fleetguard are trademarks of their respective owners. Part numbers vary by engine model, emission standard, and production date, so always verify the correct filter against the engine model and the existing filter before ordering.
