Fleetguard is one of the best-known heavy-duty filter brands in the world. It was started by Cummins in 1958 and is now a brand of Atmus Filtration Technologies, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, which was listed as an independent company in 2023. Fleetguard filters are the original filtration choice on many Cummins engines, and their numbers appear on trucks, buses, construction machinery, and generator sets of many brands.

|
Main products |
Lube (oil) filters, fuel filters, fuel/water separators, air filters, coolant filters, DEF filters, crankcase ventilation filters, hydraulic filters |
|
Key technologies |
NanoNet and StrataPore filter media, combination full-flow and bypass lube filters |
|
Typical use |
Cummins engines and many other on-highway and off-highway engines |
NanoNet. Introduced by Cummins Filtration in 2012, NanoNet media removes and retains, according to the company, 98.7 percent of particles as small as four microns. It is used in fuel filters such as the FF5825NN and in lube filters.
StrataPore. A Fleetguard media used in many lube filters and fuel/water separators, designed to give low restriction and quick protection against larger particles.
Combination lube filters. The LF3000 introduced combined full-flow and bypass filtration in a single spin-on in the 1980s. The LF14000NN, introduced for the Cummins X15 and ISX15 and named an industry new product of the year, pairs StrataPore media, which handles about 60 percent of the flow, with NanoNet media for the remainder.
While exact filter part numbers depend on the specific engine series and build, the following Fleetguard numbers appear frequently in heavy-duty maintenance:
These numbers are useful references when identifying the correct replacement. Always confirm the exact filter by engine serial number, application, or existing filter part number when possible.

Lube filters. Replace the lube filter with every oil change. Extended-service filters such as the LF14000NN are designed to support the longer intervals of modern engines, but only with the correct oil and within the manufacturer's maximum interval.
Fuel filters. Replace the fuel/water separator and the main fuel filter together, drain water regularly, and prime the system after replacement. High-efficiency fuel filters protect common-rail injectors, so do not substitute a coarser filter.
Air filters. Check the restriction indicator and replace the element when it trips. Dusty duty needs shorter intervals.
Coolant, DEF, and crankcase filters. Replace these on schedule, since they are often overlooked and are important for modern emission systems.
Service intervals depend on the engine model, emission standard, oil specification, duty cycle, and the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Always follow the schedule for your specific vehicle or machine.
What is the Fleetguard filter for a Cummins X15? The standard lube filter is LF14000NN (Cummins 4367100), the stage 1 fuel/water separator is FS19764 or the 10-micron versions FS20172 and FS20207, and the stage 2 fuel filter is FF5825NN or the later FF5971N.
What replaces the Fleetguard LF9009? Fleetguard lists later upgrade paths such as LF14009NN and LF14002NN. They are not necessarily interchangeable with LF9009 for every engine, so verify by engine and year.
Are Fleetguard numbers the same as Cummins numbers? No, but each Fleetguard filter usually has a matching Cummins part number, such as LF14000NN and 4367100, or LF9009 and 3401544.
Does ADAOER Filter sell Fleetguard filters? No. ADAOER Filter is an independent manufacturer. It can provide cross-reference matching for applications covered by Fleetguard numbers on request, but its products are not Fleetguard products.
For fleets, distributors, and importers sourcing replacement filters for the applications covered by Fleetguard cross-references, ADAOER Filter manufactures fuel, oil, air, cabin, and hydraulic filters for trucks, buses, and heavy machinery, and supports OEM/ODM development for custom specifications. Cross-reference lists are available on request.
Brand names and part numbers are used for identification and compatibility reference only. Donaldson, Fleetguard, Atmus, Cummins, PACCAR, Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF, Baldwin, WIX, Mann, Hengst, Fram, Volvo, Caterpillar, and Perkins are trademarks of their respective owners. ADAOER Filter is an independent manufacturer and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any of these companies. Part numbers vary by engine, emission standard, and production date, so always verify the correct filter against the engine model and the existing filter before ordering.
