PACCAR Inc is one of the world's largest truck makers, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. Its truck brands are Kenworth and Peterbilt in North America and DAF in Europe, and it designs and builds its own MX engines for them. Because the same MX engines power trucks sold under different brand names and on different continents, PACCAR filters are in demand in many markets, and the same engine can appear under very different part numbers in North America and in Europe.

Kenworth. T680, T880, T800, W900, and older T660 and T700 trucks use the MX-13, MX-11, or PX-9, or a Cummins engine.
Peterbilt. 579, 567, 389, 367, and related trucks use the same engines, so most engine filters are shared with Kenworth.
DAF. XF, XG, XG+, CF, and related trucks use the MX-13 and MX-11 in Europe, with their own DAF part numbers.
While exact filter part numbers depend on the specific engine series and build, the following numbers appear frequently in PACCAR MX maintenance:
These numbers are useful references when identifying the correct replacement. Always confirm the exact filter by engine serial number, application, or existing filter part number when possible.
A Kenworth T680 and a DAF XF can carry the same engine family, yet buyers searching for filters see very different numbers. In North America, PACCAR filters appear under K37 and P numbers and under Fleetguard, WIX, and Baldwin equivalents. In Europe, DAF filters appear under numbers such as 2047411 and 2277129 and under Mann, Hengst, and Fleetguard equivalents. Emission standards also differ (EPA in North America, Euro in Europe), which changes the fuel and aftertreatment filters. Always confirm the engine and the market before ordering.

Oil filters. Replace the oil filter with every oil change. Intervals depend on the duty cycle, with severe-duty and high-idle operation requiring shorter intervals than low-idle line haul.
Fuel filters. MX engines use a two-stage fuel system with a fuel/water separator and a main fuel filter. Replace both together, drain the separator regularly, and prime the system after replacement. Low-quality filters can cause low-pressure fuel faults or injector damage.
Air filters. Check the restriction gauge and replace the primary element when required. Dusty and vocational use needs shorter intervals.
Crankcase, DEF, and cabin filters. MX-13 engines have a crankcase ventilation filter, SCR trucks have a DEF filter, and all trucks have a cabin air filter. Replace each on schedule.
Service intervals depend on the engine model, emission standard, oil specification, duty cycle, and the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Always follow the schedule for your specific vehicle or machine.
Is the MX-13 in a Kenworth T680 the same as in a Peterbilt 579? Yes. It is the same PACCAR MX-13 12.9-litre inline-six engine, so the engine filters are the same. Cabin filters and some air filters can differ by model.
Are North American and European MX-13 filters interchangeable? Not by default. The engines share a design, but emission equipment and part numbers differ. Always verify by engine code and market.
What oil filter does a PACCAR MX-13 use? North American catalogs commonly list WIX 57370 (Donaldson P550812), and DAF applications list numbers such as 2047411 and 2234788. Verify by engine and year.
Can aftermarket filters be used on PACCAR engines? Yes, if they meet or exceed the original specification for efficiency, flow, and pressure rating and come from a manufacturer able to supply test data. Check warranty terms on newer trucks.
For fleets, distributors, and importers sourcing replacement filters for the applications covered by PACCAR engines, ADAOER Filter manufactures fuel, oil, air, cabin, and hydraulic filters for trucks, buses, and heavy machinery, and supports OEM/ODM development for custom specifications. Cross-reference lists are available on request.
Brand names and part numbers are used for identification and compatibility reference only. Donaldson, Fleetguard, Atmus, Cummins, PACCAR, Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF, Baldwin, WIX, Mann, Hengst, Fram, Volvo, Caterpillar, and Perkins are trademarks of their respective owners. ADAOER Filter is an independent manufacturer and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any of these companies. Part numbers vary by engine, emission standard, and production date, so always verify the correct filter against the engine model and the existing filter before ordering.
